Agios Nikolaos is a coastal town on the Greek island of Crete. It is located east of the island's capital, Heraklion, north of Ierapetra, and west of Sitia. Heraklion International Airport and the many daily ferry services in Heraklion, 64 km away, connect Agios Nikolaos to the mainland and the rest of Europe. You can also travel through Sitia's airport, where you can catch a domestic or charter flight, or through its 67-kilometer-long harbour.
The Voulismeni
Lake, the town's gem and one of the town's monuments, is renowned for its
various legends, with Athena and Artemis swimming in its waters according to
Greek mythology. The sweetwater lake, which is bordered by red rock formations
and lush vegetation, merges into the sea through a short canal. There are a
number of bars and restaurants located around the lake, making the area quite
lively at night.
A wander around the stores is always pleasant. Unique traditional Cretan art pieces, replicas from local ancient institutions, jewelry, and amazing embroidery may all be found in stores. They also sell a variety of local items and delicacies that would entice anyone's taste buds. Traditional coffee shops abound in the town, serving local fare and raki.Wyndham Grand Crete Mirabello Bay
